1“The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation,
Genesis 12:1-3
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”
Thinking I could write you a song for awhile,
But these words just won’t come out right.
Wishing I could sing a soothing melody,
Just to show we’ll be all right.
Still, any song I write would fade away
And nothing would suffice.
But it’s only by the grace of God,
Through only Jesus Christ–
This is a promise from the Word:
Leave the land you came from,
Go to those who’ve never heard,
To the land prepared for us,
To be blessed to bless,
Proclaiming Christ to all the world.
Praying with the words God has spoken to us,
Covenantal blessings abide.
Letting God make two become one in Christ
In this word we confide.
